Black & White With Color


This picture was taken on October 17th at approximately 6:00 in the evening. My camera was set to no flash.


To turn the picture black and white, I went to the hue/saturation menu in adjustments and lowered the saturation all the way down.


Besides turning it black and white, I enhanced the input on the curves menu, I enhanced the shadows on the level menu, and I cropped out some of the empty space on the right and bottom edges. After this, I used the quick selection tool to select only the eyes and the apple in her hand, then used the eraser to take out the black and white in those areas. I really like the edited picture a lot! Her eyes are so blue, and they really stand out when everything else is black and white. The apple adds a little more color and balances the picture a little, I think.

    THAT'S MY COUSIN!!! Lol
    I really like the photo setup, it's very eye pleasing. I really like that you decied to do both the apple and her eyes it helps draw more attention to her face, I do think that her eyes are a tad too blue in you edited photo, it kinda looks fake-ish. But other than that it's a wonderful picture!!! Great Job!
